Life & Disability Offerings Improved for Small Employers

With limited resources and budgets, small business owners are focused on cost and convenience. Guardian understands these needs and strives to provide large company benefits at small business prices.

We’ve recently enhanced our life and disability products for small businesses, and have also added a new critical illness product – all of which helps to increase flexibility and ease administration.

Long-Term Disability

  • Guarantee Issue available.1
  • $2,500/month for 2-5 lives2 and $6,000/month for 6-9 lives.2
  • Higher maximums available with underwriting - maximum available monthly benefit increased to $7,500.

Short-Term Disability

  • Guarantee Issue available.1
  • $500/week for 2-5 lives2 and $1,000/week for 6-9 lives.2
  • Higher maximums available with underwriting - maximum available weekly benefit increased to $2,000.

Life

  • For 2-5 lives, guarantee life insurance of $25,000.1
  • For 6-9 lives, guarantee life insurance of $50,000.1
  • Higher amounts available with conditional issue and/or medical underwriting.

New! Critical Illness

  • Lump-sum payment up to $50,0003 upon diagnosis of a heart attack, cancer, stroke, major organ transplant, end-stage renal failure, or coronary artery bypass graft (CABG).
  • Hospital admission payment up to $500 per day for conditions other than critical illness.
  • For 6-15 lives, guarantee issue of $5,000 for employees & $2,500 for spouse & children on non-contributory and contributory plans.
  • For 2-5 lives, conditional issue required.

1 To qualify for Guaranteed Issue, employer must complete transferred business questionnaire. For Life, age restrictions apply. For ages 65-69 maximum guaranteed issue is $10,000 (employee), while ages 70 and older must be individually underwritten for all amounts. Late entrants and benefit increases require underwriting approval.
2 Pre-existing condition language is subject to state-specific guidelines.
3 Face amounts up to $25,000 for groups with 2-9 lives.

Critical Illness is not available in all states. Exclusions and limitations may apply.
